A great way to get your Homecoming weekend rolling as soon as you get to Bloomsburg (actually Berwick).
Open to any Bloomsburg Greek over 21 years old.
This year the annual pilgrimage to Bloomsburg starts on Friday night with the
GREEK BALL
First and foremost - This event is a fund raiser for the IFC, CPC and ISC organizations that keep our active chapters going strong.
This is an opportunity to see the whole greek community together and having fun! Much like what Greeks who graduated prior to 1990 experienced in the KEHR UNION, this room holds up to 300 people and we plan to take full advantage of the space in the following ways:
Each participating organization will have a THEMED TABLE that will connect to the type of party they became best known for over they years (based on your recollections). For example:
TKE - Beach/Hawaian shirts.
SIO - Barn
Delta Pi - Halloween
Zetes - Suck/Clam bake
and many more!!!
GREEK WEEK CONTRIBUTION - Two Ways:
1. The greek organization with the most Alumni in attendance at the Greek Ball will receive additional points towards the Greek Week championship! You can help your organization win…simply by attending, supporting them, and having a good time!
2. The Greek Organization that wins the vote for the best representative area at the Greek Ball will win bonus points for their organization. More details on how that works later….
Fluff flowers and make a greek float banner! - we will have an area at the Greek Ball for fluffing flowers and creating a “float banner” that will be displayed at the Football game tailgate on Saturday. Here is the rough design:
See old Greek friends, Meet the Active Chapter, make new memories, award scholarships, and generally celebrate our alma mater and the life-long relationships we made there.
Homecoming is kind of a “freeform” event, because each Greek Alumni has their own agenda. But the one thing that the Greek Alumni Association does do for Homecoming Revelers is to create a “home base” that they can use to get out of the crowds and dirt for a while and be with a LIMITED NUMBER of their Greek friends (outside of the chaos).
